Floating like a cork in the Dead Sea !Hi! My name is Katy, and I’m twelve years old. I recently went to Israel with my Mom and Grandma, and I want to share some of the highlights of my trip with you. The Dead Sea was so much fun!! It was a lifetime memory. I’ll never forget it!! I went in first and then Mom came in. At first, it is very cold, but after you try to sit down and float instead, you forget about how cold it is. We only spent about five minutes in the water because it is soooo salty, but I’ll never forget it!
In the Garden of Gethsemane Visiting the garden of Gethsemane and the Garden tomb was a very moving experience for me. No one knows for sure, but if you ask me, I think that this must have been where Joseph of Arimathea brought Jesus’ body, and where the resurrection took place. It is so beautiful and peaceful.
Here I am at the Fortress of Masada Masada was really neat. We got to ride a cable car up to the top of the mountain. It was so much fun. We got to see a very ancient sauna, and how it worked. We also got to see the Roman soldiers siege camp below the mountain. My favorite thing about it was realizing, as I walked through the fortress, that the people who defended it had chosen to give up their lives there rather than surrender to slavery. King Herod may have been a bad guy, but he was a great builder! When you go, be sure to see his private swimming pool. He had many servants whose only job was to carry water from the aquaduct and keep his pool filled with cool water. Send us your journal or trip report as soon as possible.
