DAY 10 JERUSALEM/ TEL AVIV  to NUWEIBA, EGYPT

Traveling southward from Israel, the journey into ancient civilization begins as you cross the Taba border near Eilat.  Continue to the resort city of Nuweiba, Egypt located on the Gulf of Aqaba, where you will have an overnight stay.

DAY 11 MT. SINAI,  ST. CATHERINE'S MONASTERY and NUWEIBA

Visit the famous St. Catherine's Monastery at Mt. Sinai,  built in the sixth century to protect what was believed to be the Burning Bush in which God first revealed Himself to Moses.  It is most renowned for the unique collection of precious art objects and the library with its collection of old manuscripts.  Return to Nuweiba for an overnight stay.

DAY 12 AQABA and PETRA, JORDAN

Cross the Gulf of Aqaba by ferry and continue to the rose-red city of Petra, well preserved with numerous monuments carved in the colorful rocks dating back to 300 B.C.  Tour the various temples, the Amphitheater, the Monastery, the Streets of Columns, and the Treasury.  You will overnight in the Petra area.

DAY 13 MADABA, MT. NEBO, and AMMAN

Travel the King's Highway to Madaba, known as the city of mosaics,  to visit the impressive mosaic of Palestine which dates back to the sixth century A.D.   From the summit of Mt. Nebo overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea,  you can view the "promised land" as Moses did.  Upon arrival in Amman, you will view the remarkable second century Roman Amphitheater located in the center of town, and visit the Roman ruins of Citadel Hill and the Jordan Archaeological Museum.  Continue to your hotel in Amman for an overnight stay.

DAY 14 JERASH and TEL AVIV, ISRAEL
