DAY 10 JERUSALEM/TEL AVIV to CAIRO, EGYPT

Travel southward from Israel today into the land of the Pharaohs and priceless treasures.   You will cross the Taba border near Eilat and continue on to Cairo, Egypt with accommodations for the next three nights.

DAY 11 CAIRO

Admire the ancient art treasures and masterpieces of Egypt exhibited in the Egyptian Museum.  Explore the famous twelfth century Citadel and the Mohammed Ali's Alabaster Mosque, and enjoy the beautiful panorama of the city of Cairo.  If time permits, sail the Nile River aboard an authentic Egyptian Felucca!

DAY 12 CAIRO and THE PYRAMIDS

Touch the earliest history of Egypt as you visit the ancient capital of Memphis.  The original form of pyramid is the Step Pyramid which can be seen at Sakkara.  Continue to the Great Pyramids of Giza to view the last surviving remnants of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.  View the colossal Sphinx monument which is symbolic of Egypt throughout the ages.

DAY 13 MT. SINAI,  ST. CATHERINE'S MONASTERY and NUWEIBA

Depart early this morning for Mt. Sinai to visit the famous St. Catherine's Monastery, built in the sixth century to protect what was believed to be the Burning Bush in which God first revealed Himself to Moses.  It is most renowned for the unique collection of precious art objects and the library with its collection of old manuscripts.  Continue to Nuweiba, located on the Gulf of Aqaba,  for an overnight stay.

DAY 14 NUWEIBA and TEL AVIV, ISRAEL

The morning is at your leisure to relax or enjoy the beach on the Gulf of Aqaba.  Shortly after lunch you will cross the border at Taba and continue to Tel Aviv for your late evening flight to the USA.

DAY 15 TEL AVIV to USA

Arrive in the USA.

Crossing the Nile River, enjoy a morning visit to the world famous Valley of Kings and Queens located on the west bank.  Return to the eastern shore for a visit to the magnificent Temples of Luxor and Karnak (lunch included).  Board an overnight train for your return to Cairo.  (You may fly to Cairo for an additional $120 which includes dinner and hotel, and is subject to availability.  All requests for this service must be received in writing by the ETS office upon registration.)

DAY 14. CAIRO

This morning you will arrive in Cairo with the remainder of the day at leisure for shopping or relaxing at your hotel.

DAY 15. CAIRO and NUWEIBA

Visit the Tomb of Sadat, the martyred president of Egypt who built a bridge of peace with Israel. This afternoon depart for the resort city of Nuweiba, located on the Gulf of Aqaba, for an overnight stay. 

DAY 16. NUWEIBA and TEL AVIV, ISRAEL

The morning is at your leisure to relax or enjoy the beach at Nuweiba.  You will cross the border at Taba this afternoon and continue to Tel Aviv for your late evening flight to the USA.

DAY 17. TEL AVIV TO THE USA

Arrive in the USA.

DAY 12. LUXOR, KARNAK, and NILE CRUISE (EMBARK)

Depart this morning to the Cairo airport for your flight to Luxor, and transfer on arrival to the cruise ship.  This afternoon you will visit the breathtaking Temple and Obelisk in the town center of Luxor, plus the Temple of Karnak which is connected by the Avenue of Sphinxes.

DAY 13. LUXOR  - ESNA - CRUISING

Travel this morning through the Theban Hills to visit the magnificent Valley Of The Kings And Queens.  Return to the ship and enjoy the remainder of the day as you sail from Luxor to Esna.

DAY 14. ESNA - EDFU - KOM OMBO - CRUISING

Highlights today include a visit to the Temple of Khnum at Esna.  Then continue your cruise to Edfu where you will ride a carriage to the well-preserved Temple of Horus.  This magnificent dark-stone temple, built in 230 B.C., will teach you about the religious life of ancient Egypt.  Return to the ship and cruise to Kom Ombo.

DAY 15. KOM OMBO - ASWAN - CRUISING

A morning visit takes you to Kom Ombo, perched high atop a hill on a picturesque bend in the river.  Visit the temple dedicated to Horus, the sun god, and Sobek, the crocodile god. Cruise on to Aswan, the "Pearl of the Nile".  Weather permitting, you will ride a graceful felucca to view Elephantine Island, Aswan's famous botanical gardens on Kitchener's Island, and the Mausoleum of the Aga Khan.   Return to the ship for one last night.

DAY 16. ASWAN (DISEMBARK) /CAIRO and TEL AVIV

Disembark today and begin your sightseeing of Aswan and the New High Dam which forms Lake Nasser.  Visit the Unfinished Obelisk and learn how it was possible to cut a single piece of rock to create massive pillars.  Transfer this afternoon and continue to the Aswan airport for a flight to Cairo. Continue on your international flights from Cairo to Tel Aviv, then to the USA.

DAY 17. TEL AVIV TO THE USA

Arrive in the USA.
